Someone Like You By Sarah Dessen This beautiful novel about friendship, relationship drama, and tragedy is thrilling and will capture any teenager from beginning to end. Sarah Dessen really knows how to get into the life of a seventeen-year-old girl and accentuate the details that other teens will easily relate to. The difficult challenges and events that Halley, the main character, encounters are completely true to live and will have any reader curious and wondering how this will every be resolved. I loved reading this novel and recommend that every teenage girl reads it as well. There couldn’t possible be more drama and heartache in this book than there already is and Sarah Dessen has put it all together perfectly. Read t6his book and I promise you won’t be disappointed.

The Demon Trapper’s Daughter By Jana Oliver Riley Blackthorne is a rough and tough teenage demon trapper who is all about
business and getting rid of every last demon threatening the world. However,
once her whole world starts to fall apart because of her father’s tragic
accident while trapping, she is forced to survive on her own and it is even
harder for her to finally become a master trapper. This novel is completely
different from anything I have ever read before and I loved it! It is entirely
unique and has clever twists and turns that no reader would ever see coming. The
malicious tasks forced upon her and the hatred toward Riley make her stronger
and cause your love for her to increase rapidly throughout the book. Her
interesting relationships with Simon and Beck also cause your heart to pump
faster and sends your pulse racing. This novel is truly intoxicating and will
have any reader begging for more. Look for the sequel coming out soon on August
30, 2011!

This book has made it onto my ‘top five favorite books list’! This novel, I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore, completely captured me while I read this story. If I hadn’t had school, I would have finished it in one day! The main character, John, is so well-developed and realistic despite his dark secret. The story line is amazing and flooded me with so many different emotions throughout the book. At times I would laugh out loud, other times I would be about to burst into tears, and many times I was overwhelmed with anxiety for John and his safety. I would recommend this book to everybody! Pittacus Lore, please write a sequel!

Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson is one of my all-time favorite books! Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, the Gasman, and Angel, the six extraordinary main characters, are always on the run and never have a slow moment in their fast-moving lives. This family of runaways is always on the lookout for the Erasers, half men half wolf people, who intend to bring them back to the School, the lab where they were made and grew up in. Join Max and her family as they fight for their freedom and survival. Once you enter their world, you won’t be able to leave.

Calling all you vampire lovers out there, I have found another spectacular book on the subjects you all crave- vampires and forbidden love. Vampire Academy, by Richelle Mead, grabs your attention on the very first page and never lets it go. The main character, Rose Hathaway, is a very strong girl who makes you think about friendship in a different way. I instantly loved her strong, courageous attitude, but I did question some of her decisions. Then, however, she would do something remarkable and make me respect her at a higher level than before. Rose’s best friend, Lissa Dragomir, had a different impression on me, though. Lissa would make me worried and frightened at different parts of this book. Sometimes she would even make me mad at her for causing Rose so much trouble. But this anger would wear off and disappear when I thought about her hard life. Lissa is a tortured soul and I often wonder how Richelle Mead came up with her. Richelle Mead has done a fabulous job with this book and creating all her characters. I absolutely loved this modern-day action/romance book and I highly recommend it to anyone who is seeking a great story with loyal friendships (and some not-so-loyal friendships) and a hot and steamy romance.

I bet all you ‘Twilight Saga’ fans (and lets face it, that is practically everyone) have heard of Stephenie Meyer’s new book The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. This ‘Eclipse’ novella is the superior story of a newborn vampire, Bree, who only makes a brief appearance in the ‘Twilight Saga’. This story shows you a little bit of what it is like in a vampire coven. You also see all the horrible lies and secrets kept from one another and how deadly many of the newborn vampires can be to each other. Bree has learned how to not get killed by short-tempered vampires, like Raoul and his gang, and how to blend in. But Bree’s vampire life changes once she meets Diego. Together, this couple is strong and powerful and are starting to figure out what is the truth and what is fiction; this makes them a threat to their leader and creator. This book was chilling and I absolutely adored reading about Bree’s short, second life.
