Colin Fischer by Ashley Edward Miller & Zack Stentz

This book was about Colin Fischer, a fourteen year old boy with Asperger’s.  Because of this he was very intelligent.  He doesn’t like loud noises, the color blue, being touched, or when someone moves things in his room.  He isn’t that good at telling if someone is joking about something or not.  He loves mysteries and solving them.  His idol is Sherlock Holmes.  He has a notebook he has written in since preschool.

One day at school someone fires a gun in the cafeteria.  Colin is on the case.  He gets into more trouble trying to solve this than he has in his whole life.

I loved this book!  It was so interesting that I read the whole without stopping except for when I had a snack break.

This book was about how eleven year old Leo Fillmore is trying to get enough money to pay the state property taxes the Whippet Hotel owes which is exactly 7,000,000 dollars!!!!!!!  Leo has owned the hotel for a year.  Leo’s best friend, Remi, is now his brother because their parents got married.  Their parents are on their honeymoon while all of this is happening! And they don’t even know about the tax problem.  Meanwhile, Ms. Sparks, who used to work at the hotel, is trying to somehow own the hotel so that she can knock it down and make it into a tower.
